DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical experience in design specification, manufacturing process specification and production sustaining. Candidate will work in an R&D group alongside RF and logic circuit designers developing new wireless products and accessories for use mainly in broadcasting, film and live music & theater. Will work with machinists in initial development of new mechanical components and with assemblers and industrial engineers in defining manufacturing processes and product bills of material structures in support of new products, existing parts changes and other manufacturing flow requirements.
Responsibilities will include production support from component manufacture through mechanical sub-assembly and final assembly completion. Must possess good organizational skills and be independently motivated to evaluate problems, apply practical solutions and process corrective actions for improving product quality manufacturing efficiency. Must effectively interface with many disciplines including; Electrical Design Engineers, Industrial Engineers, Machinists, Purchasing Agents, Contractors, Inspectors, Assemblers and Test Technicians.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in design and manufacturing of electromechanical consumer and/or industrial parts and products. Experience in 2-D CAD drawing and 3-D solid modeling is essential. and CAD/CAM parts processing experience a plus. Candidate must possess working knowledge of materials properties, parts fabrication methods, subtractive machining methods, sheet metal design and manufacturing, fastening technologies, tooling design, electrical packaging, MRP systems navigation, bills of materials structure, Engineering Change Order requirements and configuration control maintenance. Applied geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, value engineering practices and 3-D printing methods also a plus.
