DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under direct supervision performs a variety of routine tasks which require being instructed on setting up and running a machine using jigs and fixtures. Entry level tasks generally include mostly drill press work with some lathe and mill work added, operation of CNC after setup, performs deburring, polishing, buffing, filling and cleaning machines and sweeping the floor. Although the above is typical of the duties and responsibilities normally performed, additional duties and responsibilities requiring essentially the same skills, knowledge and dexterity may be required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school graduate or equivalent required. Must possess at least one (1) year of experience in a machine shop, automotive repair shop or comparable mechanical area with demonstrated mechanical skills and dexterity.
MACHINES, EQUIPMENT & TOOLS NORMALLY USED
Drill press, lathe and manual milling machine, some CNC millwork (operation only, no setup or programming), belt sander, surface grinder, dual grinding/buffing machine, various power and hand tools, high pressure air hose, roll-around wagon, jigs and fixtures and occasionally the telephone. Safety glasses must be worn at all times while in the machine shop. Additional safety equipment to be worn or utilized as indicated by company policy or applicable State and Federal regulations.
Normal machine shop equipment and machine noise, some vibration, metal chips and shavings, lubricating oil and grease. Tasks require sitting for prolonged periods, walking, carrying and some lifting.
