The Duet digital IEM wireless monitor and IFB system represents a significant step forward for a variety of audio professionals. With low latency, Dante inputs and a compact, lightweight, diversity bodypack unit, the Duet system should please even the most demanding users.
The Duet system consists of the M2T dual-stereo half-rack transmitter, the DCHT portable transmitter and M2R diversity belt pack receiver. The Duet covers the UHF frequencies of 470-608 MHz (138 MHz) [470 – 614 MHz for E01 version] in a single range, uses digital modulation for transmission, and can accept analog or digital inputs. The new system can be considered a "wireless IEM" or a deluxe IFB product, designed and developed with professional touring, installation, theater, filmmaking and broadcast customers in mind.
The M2T ½ rack transmitter, the DCHT and the M2R beltpack receiver units have 2-way IR sync, so scan data from the receiver can be sent to the transmitters. With the M2T rack unit, RF scan information can be sent over USB or Ethernet for use by Wireless Designer™ software for frequency planning and coordination purposes. Additionally, the system includes a Flex List mode, where a number of names and frequencies can be stored in the receiver. This way, a monitor engineer or production manager can quickly find and listen to any of the mixes on the stage or in the studio.
The compact nature of the M2T ½-rack transmitter means that up to four dual-channel carriers can be sent from 1RU, resulting in either 4 stereo audio feeds or up to 8 mono audio feeds. The portable DCHT transmitter can be powered by AA batteries or external DC using the optional LT battery eliminator. The tremendous power and flexibility of this system makes it possible to use the Duet for a variety of professional audio applications.
