Setting Compatibility Modes
For all Lectrosonics Digital Hybrid Wireless™ Transmitters

One of the benefits of Lectrosonics Digital Hybrid Wireless™ is its ability to operate with non-Digital Hybrid Wireless™ products, such as Lectrosonics 100 Series, 200 Series, 300 Series (European) and other analog systems. This technical note covers discovering and changing (if necessary) the compatibility mode of a typical Lectrosonics Digital Hybrid Wireless™ transmitter.

Determine Current Compatibility Mode

  1. Ensure the transmitter is turned off. For the MM400A, loosen the Battery Cap to turn off the transmitter. For all others, set the POWER switch to the Off position.

  2. Determine where the Modulation LED's are location on your transmitter. If you have a UT400 Hand-Held transmitter, rotate the Battery Compartment Locking Ring to gain access to the Battery Compartment where the Modulation LED's are located.

  3. Turn on the transmitter. All LED's will glow briefly, then the Modulation LED's will blink to indicate the current Compatibility Mode. Refer to the Compatibility Chart to determine the current Compatibility Mode setting for the transmitter.

Changing Compatibility Modes
The same 16-position rotary switches used to set the operating frequency are used to select the Compatibility Modes in Lectrosonics Digital Hybrid Wireless™ transmitters. (See Digital Hybrid Wireless™ Transmitters, Location of Frequency Select Switches.)

  1. Ensure transmitter is turned off. If you have a UT400 Hand-Held transmitter, rotate the Battery Compartment Locking Ring and removed the Battery Compartment Cover to gain access to the Battery Compartment where the Modulation LED's and Frequency Select Switches are located.

  2. Refer to the Typical Frequency Switch Layout and, using a small screwdriver, set both Frequency Switches to “C.”

  3. Briefly power up the transmitter, just long enough for the Modulation LED's to light up, then turn the transmitter off.

  4. Use the small screwdriver to select the new Compatibility Mode by setting both Frequency Switches according to the Compatibility Mode Switch Settings Chart.

  5. Briefly power up the transmitter, just long enough for the Modulation LED's to light up, then turn the transmitter off.

  6. Use the small screwdriver to set the Frequency Switches to 0,0.

  7. Turn on the transmitter and observe the Modulation LED's. They should blink according to the newly assigned compatibility code.
