FINDING CLEAR FREQUENCIES For UCR201, UCR211, UCR401, UCR411a Receivers
The following procedure is designed to help locating clear channels for operating the wireless system.
Ensure receiver and associated transmitter are turned off.
Set the Power ON/OFF switch to ON. The Main Window should appear in the LCD after a few seconds.
Ensure the receiver is in PILOT TONE mode. (A “P” will be blinking in the upper left corner of the
Main Window.) If the receiver is in PILOT TONE BYPASS mode (steady "b" displayed), press and hold the receiver’s MENU button,
press the SEL Up button, then release both buttons. The "b" should change to a “P” in the upper left corner of the LCD and should begin
blinking.
Simultaneously press the MENU and SEL Up and SEL Down buttons to enter Scan Mode.
View the LCD while the receiver is scanning. The vertical marker will move across the display from left to right.
RF activity will be indicated by dark areas in the display. Look for clear channels in the spectrum where there is no RF
activity. Scanning will repeat and continue until any front panel button is pressed (SEL Up, SEL Down, or MENU).
Press the SEL Up or SEL Down buttons to move the marker to the middle of a clear area where there is no RF activity.
If necessary, press the MENU button to zoom in for greater detail for fine adjustment. If an area with no RF activity cannot be
found anywhere in the spectrum, choose an area with the least amount of RF activity.
Simultaneously press the SEL Up, SEL Down and MENU buttons to move to the next screen. Two options will be displayed USE OLD
and USE NEW.
Press SEL Down to select USE NEW and set the receiver to the new clear frequency found during scanning, then refer to the
associated transmitter’s reference manual and set it to the same operating frequency.
Press SEL Up to select USE OLD and return to the Main WIndow without changing the operating frequency.
